Overview: This integrated reading and writing lesson plan culminates in a five-paragraph essay which includes paraphrased information from three sources and applies the information from those readings to the student's own learning goals. The lesson plan can be used to model the research and research-writing processes for developing academic essays, or to provide practice in writing individual paragraphs which incorporate readings into a written product. It is designed to be taught/learned in four to six class meetings, or about two weeks.
