Links Worth a Look

"The Unknown Soldier" by Luc Sante I think this short essay is the most powerful writing I've ever read.

Interested in some history sites and historical sights? I am.

Today in History

Jamestown Settlement and Yorktown Victory Center, educational and fun "must visits" when you're in southeast Virginia

Colonial Williamsburg I hope these folks don't price themselves out of business because one can spend many fun days here.

Nat'l Park Service site for Colonial National Historical Park (Yorktown and Jamestown, with Williamsburg right in between). Lots of links to other historical attractions in the Richmond and Tidewater areas.

The Mariners Museum of Newport News, Va. Might not sound like much, but you might be surprised!

James River Plantations A great visit, and they are just up along Route 5 west, out of Williamsburg, a beautiful drive.

Virginia Air and Space Center. This is more recent history than we find at most Virginia sites, but it's still way fun.

Some other favorite sites and publications

Tracking the Truth

National Public Radio: Tune in and listen online to my favorite radio programs.

Facets of Religion is a religious resources index and is the WWW Virtual Library's official Religion category.

Hampton Roads.Com, for local news; for reviews of restaurants, movies and other entertainment; for what's happening in the Virginia Tidewater area

Virginia is for Lovers, the official Virginia tourism and fun website. You name it; Va. has it.

Southern Illinois University at Carbondale: My alma mater
